Analysis and Consulting
We are independent agronomists who strive to use a grower driven approach to develop a nutrient management plan on a field-by-field basis using soil analysis approaches tailored to each farm management system. This includes determining best analysis approaches, developing initial recommendations from lab results, and then working through recommendations with growers to match historical field knowledge and farm goals to reach economic yield goals.
Precision Ag Zone
Design and Delineation
We use ten years of crop history for multi-year NDVI analysis to identify unique patterns and understand variability in productivity across a field. This allows us to develop separate management zones that can be corroborated with yield data. We can then use this information to identify geo-referenced soil sampling locations for collection and analysis.
Soil Sampling for Variable or Uniform Rate Application
Management Zones for Variable Rate Applications: We offer soil sampling services to address soil fertility decisions under variable rate nutrient management practices, specializing in precision ag application approaches. We can sample down to 4 feet at 1 ft increments for nutrient analysis.
Composite Field Sampling for Uniform Rate Applications: For certain fields or situations, such as taking on a new field, merging several relatively small fields, or low inherent variability, we offer a composite sampling and a single zone management approach that may be more appropriate for the near-term while the characteristics of the field are being evaluated.
Agronomy, Prescription Writing and Technical Support
We use soil test results to provide prescription maps for uniform or variable rate application (generally three zones) and work with the grower to make the appropriate fertilizer recommendation. We offer specialized field work to address certification requirements for programs such as soil carbon sequestration and carbon credits. We provide assistance in small scale, grower specific field trials. We tailor our efforts to meet farmers where they are and where they want to be and can provide annual agronomic reviews of performance at a field level.
